As I procede to contemplate how I might visualize music I look upon various sources. I love the idea  of using Jackson Pollocks work because it is free flowing. His method of painting allows him to harnesses and release kentetic energy that lies within us all. If I am able to truly absorb the music am listening to, perhaps I can release its effects in this way.

Action lines in figure illustrations help me to visualize the energy, or emotion of differentvariations of line.

As

I soon began to regard these duels as a puzzle in motion. This idea lead me to Newtons third law of motion. This law suggest that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Technically, I beleive, this is how any duel is conducted up until the point in which the law is broken, the puzzle pieces do not fit, and the joust has concluded.

I am now exploring the German mensurs, or fencing students in the 19th century ."The mensur is niether a duel or a sport. It is a traditional way of training acquiring character and personality." Two participants, or "Paukanten"  stand in a fixed position, only separated by an arms length, they raise their swords, or "Korbschlager," and lash at each other in the air. The fight is concluded by the first to draw blood. The victor gains the honor of besting his counter, while his counter gains honor with his scar. There are no winners or losers. I very much enjoy the nature, and structure of this kind of  battle. The protective gear  creates great volume, texture, line and shape.

Naturally my exploration of kites has brought me to an exploration of sailboats.  Sailboats as well as kites maintain a very natural elegance despite their stark geometric compositions. The movement of the billowing sails, the erratic winds, and the water beneath, be it tumultuous, or calm provides a sense of subtle tension and fluidity.
A kite seems to embody all that I seek.  A kite explores geometry, a sense of tension between order and disorder as is wavers with erratic wind, and fluidity as it glides, and with its tail. At the same time it provides a new element to consider, namely the dependence of fluidity on wind, or motion.  I will consider this dependence while I continue searching for inspiration.
